โ ๏ธ Before You Start โ Critical Notes
I Am Jesus Christ is a linear narrative game with a handful of permanently missable side quests and miracles. Before beginning your playthrough, read these critical notes to avoid missing achievements and story content.
- Always enable Divine Vision when entering any new zone โ it reveals hidden NPCs, Prayer Spots, and interactive objects not visible otherwise
- The game has no difficulty settings โ all mechanics operate identically regardless of playstyle
- Manual saves are available at any time via the pause menu. Use them frequently before major encounters
- Steam achievements unlock in real-time and do not require a specific difficulty or save file
- The free Prologue (App ID 1244380) and Demo (App ID 2161940) are separate standalone products โ progress does not transfer
- Chapter 6 (Resurrection) cannot be replayed from chapter select โ if you want the Resurrection achievement, ensure you have a save before the final sequence

The Baptism at the Jordan River
The game opens at the Jordan River where Jesus is baptized by John the Baptist. This chapter serves as the tutorial, introducing the core HUD, Holy Spirit Energy bar, basic movement, Divine Vision (RMB), and the Prayer Spot system. The Baptism is a scripted narrative event. After the baptism, the Spirit of God descends, charging your energy bar to full, and a voice from heaven speaks. You then receive the first quest: follow the path into the desert.
๐ฏ Main Objectives
- Approach John the Baptist at the Jordan River ford
- Enter the water for the Baptism ritual (hold F)
- Receive the Holy Spirit โ energy bar fills to 100%
- Activate Divine Vision for the first time (tutorial prompt)
- Locate the first Prayer Spot on the riverbank
- Follow the desert path east to begin Chapter 2
๐ Side Quests & Optional Content
๐ก Chapter Tips
- This is the only chapter with no energy cost โ use it to get comfortable with Divine Vision without risk.
- Both side pilgrims are easy Follower gains. Do not skip them โ Chapter 3 Follower requirements are cumulative.
- The hidden Prayer Spot under the willow (northwest corner) does not appear on any quest marker. It requires Divine Vision to find. It recharges energy and unlocks a brief vision sequence.
- Complete the tutorial prompts fully before progressing โ they teach the heal and interact mechanics you will need immediately in Chapter 2.
- Save manually at the end of Chapter 1 before the desert path transition.
40 Days in the Judean Desert
Jesus spends 40 days in the Judean Desert, fasting and being tempted by Satan. This is the hardest chapter in the game. Holy Spirit Energy drains at 2ร the normal rate. There are 3 temptation sequences (dialogue-based resistance checks), 2 mandatory energy-crisis events, and the first Satan boss encounter at the end. The desert environment is large with 3 Prayer Spots โ all must be found before the canyon boss arena.
๐ฏ Main Objectives
- Survive the 40-day fast โ reach Day 40 marker (follow the sun path)
- Resist Temptation 1: Stones into Bread (choose 'Man does not live on bread alone')
- Resist Temptation 2: Jump from the Temple pinnacle (choose 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test')
- Resist Temptation 3: All kingdoms for worship (choose 'Worship the Lord your God and serve him only')
- Locate all 3 Prayer Spots before entering the canyon
- Defeat Satan in the Canyon Boss Arena
๐ Side Quests & Optional Content
๐ก Chapter Tips
- Energy drains 2ร faster here. Locate all 3 Prayer Spots before the canyon: (1) oasis near the fig tree, (2) cave mouth in the eastern cliffs, (3) hilltop altar at the Day 30 marker.
- Choosing the wrong dialogue option in any Temptation does not end the game โ but it costs 20% Holy Spirit Energy as a penalty. Always choose the biblical response.
- Enter the Satan boss arena at 100% energy. Use the Prayer Spot Reset exploit (save โ reload) at the hilltop altar if needed.
- Satan Phase 2 fire arc deals double damage if it connects โ the sandstone pillar cheese eliminates this risk entirely.
- After defeating Satan, walk to the glowing white angels to trigger the angel service cutscene and fully restore energy before Chapter 3 begins.
The Galilean Ministry
The largest and most content-rich chapter. Jesus begins his public ministry at the Sea of Galilee, calls his first disciples, and then moves through multiple Galilean villages performing healings, exorcisms, and transformative miracles. This chapter contains 8+ optional side miracles, 4 Prayer Spots on the sea coast, and 6 Prayer Spots in the village regions. The majority of all missable Steam achievements are locked here. Do not rush to Jerusalem.
๐ฏ Main Objectives
- Travel to the Sea of Galilee โ meet Simon Peter and Andrew on the fishing boats
- Perform the Miraculous Catch of Fish (Chapter 3 opens)
- Call the first 4 disciples (Peter, Andrew, James, John)
- Travel to Cana โ perform Water into Wine at the wedding
- Heal 10+ afflicted NPCs across Galilee villages
- Recruit remaining 8 disciples through Galilee interactions
- Perform the Sermon on the Mount (triggered at the hilltop northeast of Capernaum)
- Cross the Sea of Galilee โ Walk on Water sequence
- Feed the 5,000 (east bank of the sea, large crowd trigger)
- Calm the Storm (required before Walk on Water โ triggered at night on the sea)
๐ Side Quests & Optional Content
๐ก Chapter Tips
- This chapter cannot be revisited. Complete ALL side miracles before the 'Prepare to leave for Jerusalem' objective appears.
- The Legion exorcism requires 60โ80% Holy Spirit Energy total. Use the Prayer Spot Reset exploit at the Magdala coastal Prayer Spot before attempting it.
- Walk on Water: Maintain slow walking speed only. The Faith balance indicator in the center of the screen must stay in the white zone. Any sprint keypress immediately breaks the effect.
- Feed the 5,000: Walk through each of the 5 crowd sections and press F near each group. Missing any group does not fail the miracle but loses the achievement.
- The Sermon on the Mount is one of the best Follower gain events. Stand at the hilltop marker and wait for all NPC crowds to gather before triggering the sermon (press E when the prompt appears).
- Calm the Storm is a 3-button QTE (Space, E, F). The buttons appear one at a time โ watch carefully. You have 2 seconds per prompt.
- Talk to Matthew at his tax booth before reaching the Capernaum synagogue. If you reach the synagogue first, Matthew's recruitment window closes.
The Road to Jerusalem
Jesus and his disciples travel south toward Jerusalem. Key events include the Transfiguration on Mount Tabor, the raising of Lazarus at Bethany, the healing of blind Bartimaeus on the Jericho road, a dialogue choice with the adulteress (missable achievement), and the triumphant Palm Sunday entry into Jerusalem. The chapter ends at the Temple Mount with the Cleansing of the Temple.
๐ฏ Main Objectives
- Travel the road through Perea toward Judea
- Ascend Mount Tabor โ Transfiguration cinematic
- Receive word about Lazarus โ travel to Bethany
- Raise Lazarus from the dead (3-tendril soul guidance)
- Heal blind Bartimaeus on the Jericho road
- Enter Jerusalem on Palm Sunday (donkey ride sequence)
- Cleanse the Temple โ drive out all money changers (5 groups)
๐ Side Quests & Optional Content
๐ก Chapter Tips
- The Lazarus resurrection is the hardest soul guidance in the game until Chapter 6. The 3 shadow tendrils move in straight-line tracking with 0.5s lag. Always move in curved arcs to exploit the lag window.
- Do not skip the Zacchaeus interaction in Jericho โ it gives the highest single Follower gain (+20) outside of Galilee.
- The Adulteress dialogue choice is permanently missable. It appears as a crowd event near the Temple outer court. Keep Divine Vision active when entering Jerusalem to spot the quest marker.
- The Palm Sunday donkey ride is on-rails โ you cannot steer. Enjoy the crowd scene, which scales based on your current Followers count.
- Cleansing the Temple: 5 money changer groups must all be driven out. Each group requires holding E for 3 seconds while Holy Spirit beams clear them. Missing any group means the Temple purification is incomplete.
The Last Supper & Garden of Gethsemane
The most narrative-heavy chapter. Jesus shares the Last Supper with his 12 disciples in the Upper Room. An extended conversation system allows dialogue with each disciple โ speaking to all 12 unlocks the achievement and provides context for each relationship. After the supper, Jesus travels to the Garden of Gethsemane for an extended prayer sequence, his final Prayer Spot opportunity before Chapter 6. Judas arrives with soldiers to trigger the arrest cutscene ending the chapter.
๐ฏ Main Objectives
- Enter the Upper Room โ Last Supper begins
- Speak to all 12 disciples at the table (press E near each โ interactive dialogue)
- Wash the feet of the disciples (walkthrough all 12 for the ritual)
- Break bread and share wine with the disciples (scripted Eucharist event)
- Travel to the Garden of Gethsemane
- Pray at the Gethsemane Prayer Spot (extended 5-minute prayer sequence)
- Find the sleeping disciples (3 times โ each time they sleep again)
- Judas arrives with soldiers โ do not resist arrest (narrative choice)
๐ Side Quests & Optional Content
๐ก Chapter Tips
- This is your LAST CHANCE to fully charge Holy Spirit Energy before the Crucifixion and final Resurrection. Use the Prayer Spot Reset exploit at the Gethsemane Prayer Spot to enter Chapter 6 at 100%.
- Speak to Judas last at the Last Supper table. His dialogue is uniquely dark in tone and triggers a brief cutscene foreshadowing the betrayal.
- The foot washing ritual requires walking to each disciple in order (left side first, then right). Moving to the wrong disciple too early breaks the sequence and requires restarting from the beginning.
- The 3 sleeping disciples scenes are non-interactive โ do not attempt to interact with them. Simply observe and return to the prayer spot each time.
- When Judas arrives at Gethsemane, the game auto-saves. Do NOT reload this save โ the chapter 5 completion state is permanently stored and Chapter 6 begins immediately after the arrest cutscene.
The Crucifixion & Resurrection
The final and most emotionally intense chapter. Jesus carries the cross along the Via Dolorosa (a stamina-draining walk sequence), is crucified at Golgotha, and then the game shifts to a spiritual plane for the final Resurrection soul guidance. The Resurrection sequence features 5 shadow tendrils and is the longest and hardest soul guidance in the game. Completing it triggers the ending cutscene and credits.
๐ฏ Main Objectives
- Walk the Via Dolorosa โ carry the cross through 14 stations
- Reach Golgotha โ Crucifixion cutscene
- Survive the Darkness phase โ resist 3 waves of shadow encroachment
- Enter the Resurrection soul guidance (final challenge)
- Guide the soul through 5 shadow tendrils to the heavenly portal
- Complete the Resurrection โ ending cutscene triggers
๐ก Chapter Tips
- Via Dolorosa: The stamina bar depletes as you carry the cross. Walk slowly to conserve stamina โ sprinting drains it 3ร faster. Simon of Cyrene will appear at Station 5 to help (reduces stamina drain by 50% for the remaining stations) if your stamina drops below 30%.
- The Darkness phase requires pressing E to 'forgive' each shadow wave. There is no combat โ simply face the darkness and hold E when the prompt appears.
- For the final Resurrection: 5 tendrils are faster than all previous soul guidances. The clockwise spiral technique works because tendril pathfinding calculates straight-line interception, not curve-tracking. A smooth spiral defeats all 5 simultaneously.
- If you fail the final Resurrection, the game checkpoints immediately before it โ you do not repeat the Via Dolorosa or Golgotha.
- The post-credits scene length depends on your Followers count: 0โ99 Followers = short scene, 100โ199 = medium scene, 200+ = full extended gathering scene with all recruited characters.

โ๏ธ Faith Management Guide
Faith is the primary resource system in I Am Jesus Christ. Understanding how to maintain, spend, and regenerate Faith is essential for completing all miracles without being caught short during critical encounters.
How Faith Is Consumed
Each second of active Divine Vision consumes a small amount of Faith. Toggle it off immediately after scanning an area to conserve reserves for encounters.
Each Faith blast during an exorcism consumes ~15% of the Faith bar. The Legion exorcism requires 6โ8 stuns โ enter with a full bar or use a nearby Prayer Spot first.
Story-critical transformations (Walking on Water, Calming the Storm) consume ~40% Faith each. These trigger at scripted moments โ ensure your bar is at least 50% beforehand.
When Roman soldiers attempt to arrest or harm you, Faith acts as a damage buffer. A full Faith bar allows you to walk through a 4-soldier blockade without harm.
How to Regenerate Faith
- Prayer Spots (best method): Fully restores Faith to 100% instantly. Each region has 3โ6 spots. Always discover and memorize their locations first.
- Passive regeneration: Faith slowly regenerates over time when not being consumed. Rate is approximately 5% per 30 seconds of idle.
- Chapter checkpoints: Faith is fully restored at each new chapter's start screen.
- Sermon completion: A successful sermon at a high-follower location provides a 25% Faith bonus on completion.
๐ฅ Follower Acquisition Guide
Followers are accumulated by performing miracles in public spaces, recruiting disciples, delivering sermons, and completing side quests. Chapter 4 has a minimum Follower requirement of 500 โ plan your Follower acquisition across Chapters 1โ3.
| Action | Followers Gained | Notes |

| Healing miracle (crowd present) | +80โ120 | Multiplied by crowd size |
| Healing miracle (private) | +20โ30 | No crowd multiplier |
| Exorcism (public) | +150โ200 | Legion exorcism gives +400 |
| Resurrection miracle | +300 | Fixed value |
| Sermon (max engagement) | +200โ350 | Requires matching crowd emotional cues |
| Disciple recruited | +50 | +50 per disciple, 12 total = +600 max |
| Feeding 5000 miracle | +500 | One-time, Chapter 3 |
