โœ๏ธ Jesus of Nazareth โ€” The Protagonist

Jesus of Nazareth in I Am Jesus Christ
Protagonist First-Person POV Fully Playable

In I Am Jesus Christ, the player directly embodies Jesus of Nazareth in first-person perspective throughout the entire game. There is no cutaway to a third-person view โ€” the entire narrative is experienced through Jesus' eyes, from his Baptism in the Jordan River to the Resurrection.

Jesus has two primary resource bars: Faith (powers all miracles and Divine Vision) and Followers (represents influence and is required for certain chapter thresholds). Both are managed throughout gameplay. Jesus does not speak directly โ€” his presence and actions drive all NPC reactions.

The game draws from the Gospel of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, depicting Jesus' ministry from approximately 27โ€“30 AD across the regions of Judea, Galilee, Samaria, and Perea. The portrayal is respectful and biblically faithful to the New Testament narrative.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ The Twelve Disciples

The Twelve Disciples are recruited progressively throughout the story, primarily in Chapters 1 and 2. Each Disciple requires a specific recruitment interaction โ€” either completing a task, performing a miracle near them, or initiating dialogue at the right story moment. All twelve must be recruited for the "Twelve" Steam achievement.

โš ๏ธ Recruitment Window Warning: Three Disciples have limited recruitment windows โ€” Simon Peter (Chapter 1, Jordan River region), Matthew (Chapter 2, Capernaum tax booth), and Judas Iscariot (Chapter 3, Jerusalem). Missing their recruitment prompts does not end the game but locks the "Twelve" achievement. Always use Divine Vision in new areas to detect purple-aura Disciple candidates.

Simon Peter

Lead Disciple / Fisher

A fisherman from Bethsaida, Simon Peter is the first disciple called and the most prominent among the twelve. He appears in multiple chapters โ€” from the Miraculous Catch in Chapter 3 (where he falls to his knees in awe) to his denial at Gethsemane in Chapter 5. His loyalty arc is one of the game's main emotional threads. He sinks during the Walk on Water sequence but is saved by Jesus.

Matthew (Levi)

Disciple / Former Tax Collector

Matthew was a hated tax collector (working for Rome) at a booth in Capernaum. Jesus's recruitment of him shocked onlookers.
